What you will study
You will study the module Exploring and Developing Creative Media Skills, which is assessed through two projects: A1 Skills Development and A2 Creative Project.
In A1 Skills Development, you will explore and develop your creative and technical skills through workshops and practical activities. This includes:
- Developing ideas through research and creative investigation
- Problem solving and experimentation in media production
- Technical skills in animation, graphics and digital media
- Professional working practices and project organisation
- Communication and presentation of creative work
In A2 Creative Project, you will apply these skills to produce a larger project in response to a creative brief. Practical work may include:
- Character and environment design
- Animation and motion graphics
- Digital illustration and visual design
- Game and interactive media concepts
- Visualisation and concept art
- Project planning and development

Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at grade 9-4 (A*-C), including English and Maths, or a Level 2 qualification (Merit or Distinction) in a related subject. Note: for skills-based qualifications you might need the skills at Level 2 in order to enrol onto the Level 3.

Assessment
Assessment is based on practical coursework and portfolio work produced through projects and creative briefs. There are no external exams.
Learners complete four assessment units across the course. Work is assessed using common criteria that focus on:
- Informing ideas through research and investigation
- Problem solving and development of creative solutions
- Technical skills in media production
- Professional practice and project management
- Communication and presentation of work
Evidence may include practical media outcomes, development work, research, planning documents and presentations. All work is collected and presented in a portfolio that demonstrates creative and technical development.
