You will study:
- Exploring and Developing Creative Media Skills
- Media Skills and Personal Development
Film and Television Production You will develop practical skills in filming and video production, including camera techniques, shot types, framing, composition and lighting. You will plan and produce short video projects and learn editing techniques such as transitions, titles and continuity editing. You will also explore recording and using sound for film and video, including microphones, dialogue and basic audio editing.
Personal Development You will explore roles within the creative media industry and develop your own practical skills through creative projects. You will also build confidence in teamwork, communication, planning and presenting your work.

Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at grades 9-3 (A*- D) (English and maths desirable) or a Level 1 qualification.

Assessment
Assessment is based on practical coursework. You will complete a range of creative projects and assignments that build a portfolio of work showing the skills you develop during the course.
Work may include research, planning, practical production, presentations and reflective evaluation. Your projects are assessed using common criteria that focus on investigation, communication, practical skills, development of ideas and your approach to working.
All assessment is internally set and marked by your tutor and there are no external exams. Grading for this qualification will be at Pass, Merit or Distinction.

Moving Forward
This course will enable you to progress to further study such as BTEC Nationals in Creative Media Practice Film, TV and Sound or Gaming, Graphics and Animation, apprenticeships or employment in the creative industries.
